The Camden County Department of Health reported today that the death of a Haddonfield resident — a female in her 70s — has been attributed to the novel coronavirus. This brings to 12 the total number of local residents who have died of COVID-19.
The total number of cases for Haddonfield now stands at 505 — about 1 in 23 residents. The school district has reported 147 cases: 111 children and 36 adults.
The Haddonfield death was one of 10 county-wide that the health department reported today. In commenting, County Commissioner Director Louis Cappelli, Jr. said:
“We are deeply saddened to announce the death of 10 additional residents of Camden County due to COVID-19. The victims and their families are in our thoughts and prayers. With so much news surrounding new vaccines and expanded eligibility beginning later this month, it bears repeating how important it is that everyone get the vaccine as soon as they are eligible and able to. The vaccines are safe, effective, and critical to our ability to move forward and out of this pandemic.”
